The coach David Carter embarked on a new adventure. In early March, he opened a unique golf club for players who want to follow in his footsteps – Carter’s Golf Club. In the interview, he explains what inspired him to found this club and what its members can look forward to. “I missed the club feeling. I want to join people with a passion for golf, offer them my experience and provide them with the best of golf. I wanted to create a club, which hadn’t previously existed,” he says.
David, what was the biggest motivation for starting your own club?
I wanted to help people enjoy the game, I wanted to bring golfers together and share my experience with them.
Who is Carter’s Golf Club for?
It doesn’t matter if a person has just taken up golf or is already an experienced player or maybe a professional. We’re ready for players of all performance levels, we can offer something interesting and inspiring to everyone. We’re also happy to help those who don‘t play golf at all – there’s an interesting programme prepared for them.
What can your club members look forward to?
They can look forward to online videos that will help them improve in different game situations. We want to teach them how to train, how to manage the course management. We want to show them the way to becoming their own coaches. It isn’t always possible to ensure the presence of an instructor at the driving range; they should therefore be able to cope by themselves. Unlike most other coaches, we aren’t afraid to let people get an insight into how we do it. Interesting articles and information from various celebrities from the Czech Republic and abroad are also accessible. For club members, we’re planning to organise exclusive events – not only the tournaments but also themed evenings and various workshops. In short, we want to create a club, which hasn’t previously existed.
Can such a golf club attract new players?
I believe so. I feel that a lot of people don’t play golf or stop because information about golf in the Czech Republic is too complicated. People often consider golf a very difficult game but it’s not like that. In fact, golf is, at an amateur level, especially fun. That’s something we’d like to change within our club. And, we also want to connect people with a passion for golf. We’d love to unite golfers who lack the club feeling.
